The World Music Series proudly showcases three extraordinary ensembles—Gonia, Dianshui Nanyue (點水南樂), and WOOONTA—each a vibrant force in rekindling traditional musical heritages while boldly forging innovative soundscapes. These trailblazing groups weave the soulful threads of ancient Asian musical traditions with contemporary creativity, creating performances that bridge cultures and time. From the dynamic fusion of traditional Korean music gugak and jazz to the delicate revival of UNESCO-recognised Nanyin (南音) and the borderless interplay of Eastern and global instruments, these bands champion cultural preservation and fearless experimentation.
